ELMA — Recruiting is underway for state corrections officer positions. The state Department of Civil Service will administer a new examination for those interested in pursuing a career as a correction officer on Feb. 11, said State Senator Patrick M. Gallivan, R-Elma, in a news release. The filing deadline for the exam is Dec. 20, 2016. “As a former New York state trooper and sheriff, I know that being a correction officer is a challenging job, but it is also very rewarding,” said Gallivan, who is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and Corrections in a news release. “The department is looking for the best candidates possible to serve in facilities across New York and I encourage men and women interested in serving their community to take the upcoming exam.” Read More. |
