DES MOINES, Iowa — An escapee from an Iowa work release facility has been apprehended. David Michael Evans had been at the Fort Des Moines Work Release Facility for just over a month when he was placed on escape status for not returning from work, according to a statement from the Iowa Department of Corrections. The 30-year-old man was serving a 40-year sentence for assault while participating in felony and prohibited drug-related acts, the statement said. He started his sentence on January 18, 2013 and was placed in the work-release program on October 12, 2016. Read More. |
