| Sheriff's office honors civilian employees |

NEWTON--When most people think of the inner workings of the jail system, officers and wardens naturally come to mind. However, civilian community members are often hard at work behind the scenes to ensure that inmates have access to the resources and social programs that they need. On Monday, the Sussex County Sheriff's Office, including the warden and staff of the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility in Newton, hosted an awards ceremony to thank the dedicated volunteers and civilian employees that contribute to the facility's operation throughout the year. "We want to take this time to thank each and every one of you," said Sheriff Michael Strada during a welcoming address.
