Bob Ferrett was scared at first. Would the tattoo-covered men with shaved heads give him mean looks? Would they try to make fun of him or question his presence? Would they lash out at his message? But the retired school administrator and Riverside resident never wavered in his quest to deliver the word of God to those behind bars. His fears proved unfounded. For the past 11 years, Ferrett has made regular visits to inmates at the Robert Presley Detention Center in downtown Riverside. He and a partner, Tim Lucas, pray, sing gospel songs and share scripture with men and women who have been arrested or broken the law. Read More. |
