Lincoln The legislative committee, known as LR34, in charge of advising the state department of correctional services released its recommendations today. Among the list of 33 proposals were several key items such as staffing, rehabilitative programming, overhauling the criminal code, and increasing the budget. What was not listed in the list of suggestions was a new prison facility, which the group of senators said will not address the underlying issues of staff safety and inmate rehabilitation.
