German police storm prison to free hostages

German police have freed two prison staff held hostage for several hours by inmates after storming a wing of a jail in eastern Germany, prosecutors say.
The inmates, both serving long sentences and demanding their release, took three staff captive at the prison in the town of Naumburg on Sunday afternoon.
One worker escaped soon afterwards, leaving a man and woman held hostage until the early hours of Monday.
No one was injured when police stormed the wing, a spokesman for prosecutors in Naumburg said.The prison holds almost 300 prisoners, all of them serving sentences of more than four years.
