| Prison visits canceled after overdoses |

State officials suspended visits at the New Hampshire State Prison for three days this week, the result of an unusual spate of four overdoses in the state corrections system, one a fatality at the Calumet halfway house in Manchester. Visits at the men’s prison were canceled entirely for Tuesday and Wednesday, and limited to lawyers on Thursday. “This action is being taken to protect the safety of the inmate population until the Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau can identify the type and source of the drugs used by the inmates as well as the point of entry for the drugs,” prison Warden Michael Zenk said in a statement released Tuesday.
