| Kemper sheriff's department to get new dog, inmate vans |

During a meeting of the Kemper County Board of Supervisors earlier this month, Kemper County Sheriff James Moore shared some improvements and upgrades being made in regards to resources for the department he supervises. Moore told the board that one of the dogs on the department's K-9 team was ailing and would need to be replaced, noting that the $13,900 needed was already accounted for in the budget. He said the first dog was was a donation and the second was purchased through a grant. The K-9 service is trained for all narcotics, personal protection and search and rescue. Read More. |
