LINCOLN — Nebraska prison officials have recommended striking a controversial change to the state’s lethal injection procedure that would hide the identities of death drug suppliers.

Gov. Pete Ricketts, who wants to return Nebraska’s death penalty to viability, would have to sign off on the recommendation before the confidentiality provision is removed. The proposal is currently under review by the governor’s policy research staff.
