A former Georgia inmate is suing for ten million dollars because she says jailers tied her naked to a chair. Shakita Perdue says jailers in Union City stripped her, strapped her to a chair and left her to be ogled by officers and inmates. The 28 year-old filed the lawsuit in federal court against the city and the firm that formerly handled inmates' medical needs. She was put in the jail last summer because of a drug charge. An internal report provided to the Atlanta Journal Constitution about the incident says a jailer admitted to strapping Perdue to a chair. He claims it was only after Perdue became drunk, abusive and threatened to kill herself. The report says the jailer was fired 17 days after the incident because of unprofessional conduct. |
