| Inmate allegedly escapes, leads cops on high-speed chase |

Millard County (Utah) sheriff's deputies were led on a brief high-speed chase Tuesday when a Department of Corrections inmate allegedly walked away from a work detail, stole a county truck and sped away. Donald Jaworowicz, a Utah Prison inmate, had been working at the Sunset View Golf course near Delta when he was reported missing around 4 p.m., police said. Utah Corrections officers spotted Jaworowicz and stopped him in Utah County a short time later. Jaworowicz was sent to prison after he cleared a McDonald's in Springville of its customers and employees and staged an eight-hour standoff with police in November 2003. |
