Union: 3 Hudson corrections officers injured in altercation with inmate

HUDSON — Two Hudson Correctional Facility officers were hospitalized Tuesday following an altercation with a 17-year-old inmate, officials from the state Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association, Inc. said.

Three officers were injured during the altercation, which occurred at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the medium security prison, NYSCOPBA Communications Director James Miller said.

Of the two injured officers sent to Columbia Memorial Hospital, one was treated for a broken ankle and the second officer sustained a laceration to his elbow and bruised ribs, Miller said.

Both officers were later released and the third officer sustained minor knee, back and hand injuries, according to a statement issued by NYSCOPBA Thursday.
