An inmate at the Cleveland city jail is accused of using handcuffs to break a corrections officer's wrist. The incident happened about 12:30 a.m. Friday at the Justice Center complex in downtown Cleveland. Samantha Honor, 28, is charged with first-degree felonious assault. Cleveland police arrested her about 11:30 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of misdemeanor assault, according to jail records and a police report. She was combative on the way to jail so police told corrections staff to keep her handcuffed as she was booked into the facility, the report says. The corrections officer said Honor seemed calmed and cooperative. She let the officer search her jacket pockets and remove her shoes, but she became aggressive when the officer checked her pants pockets, the report says. Honor kicked her feet and twisted her body around before grabbing the officer's hand and digging in her fingernails, the report says. Read More. |
