LINCOLN — Appearing dazed and confused in court on Thursday, a prison inmate who escaped from the Lincoln Correctional Center received a delay in his criminal case.

Timothy Clausen, 52, hid in a laundry basket with fellow inmate Armon Dixon, then slipped out of the prison in a laundry truck on June 10.

Dixon was captured a day later in Lincoln, but Clausen eluded apprehension for five days before his arrest at a north Omaha apartment.

On Thursday, Lancaster County prosecutors were prepared to hold a preliminary hearing on three felony charges recently filed against Clausen related to the theft of a pickup during the escape: theft, flight to avoid arrest and failing to render aid when the pickup crashed near downtown Lincoln.
