| Meadville man gets state prison time for assaulting corrections officer |

A Crawford County jail inmate has been given up to two years in state prison for simple assault on a corrections officer at the jail in Saegertown last year. Dexter L. White, 33, of 12961 Jas Lane, Meadville, was sentenced Wednesday by President Judge Anthony Vardaro of Crawford County Court of Common Pleas to one to two years in state prison with presentence jail credit of 129 days served in Crawford County jail. White also was ordered to pay a $100 fine and court costs. White pleaded guilty on March 9 in county court to simple assault for an incident Nov. 27 at the jail in which White struck a corrections officer. The charge, a second-degree misdemeanor, has a maximum penalty of up to two years in jail. Read More. |
