| Inmate dies after attack at Mount Olive |

An inmate from the state’s maximum-security prison in Mount Olive was killed in a fight Wednesday evening. Earl Parsons, 30, of Huntington, was serving time for providing false information or failing to register as a sexually violent predator, and for burglary by breaking and entering, said Lawrence Messina, spokesman for the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety. Messina would not say how many people attacked Parsons or how he was killed. He said West Virginia State Police are investigating the attack, and the state Division of Corrections is conducting an internal review. Read More. |
