| Officials searching for Salinas Valley State Prison inmate |

SOLEDAD, Calif. — California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials are searching for an inmate who walked away from the Salinas Valley State Prison Sunday. Advertisement Minimum-security inmate Brian Martin, 22, was reported missing around 8:45 P.M. Sunday. Officials say he was seen jumping a fence and was followed by correction officers. The Salinas Valley State Prison Investigative Services Unit , Crisis response Team and local law enforcement agencies and CHP were notified to assist in the search. A helicopter was also called out to aid in the search for Martin, officials say. However, they lost sight of Martin when he ran into a nearby vineyard. Read More. |
