A death row inmate convicted for a 1991 killing of a Bardstown man accepted a 30-year plea deal Wednesday in Hardin Circuit Court for kidnapping him from a Sonora truck stop. Michael Dale St. Clair, 60, of Oklahoma, pleaded guilty to the kidnapping of Francis Brady. St. Clair was convicted several times since 1998 for killing and kidnapping of Brady. Both cases were reversed on appeal several times, according to an Attorney General’s Office news release. St. Clair’s most recent sentence of death for the murder of Brady was affirmed by the Kentucky Supreme Court in 2015. He currently is on death row at Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville. St. Clair’s kidnapping conviction was reversed in 2015 and was scheduled for a retrial May 8 in Hardin Circuit Court before taking the plea deal. Read More. |
