| Program underway to help inmates battling addiction |

The Monroe County jail superintendent says he's seeing the results of the opiate epidemic. But his jail and now Ontario County is fighting back. The Ontario County Sheriff's Office has now made available for inmates an injection that can block the urge to use opiates and alcohol. Monroe County has been using it for six months now with some success. In the last six months, 15 inmates at the Monroe County Jail have taken advantage of this free program and there is hope of more much more success as time goes by. Read More. |
