There was an escape at the East Mississippi Correctional Facility near Meridian, Miss., last Friday night. Earl Blue was serving a 40-year sentence for armed robbery. Officials say they believe Blue hitched a ride from I-20 to the Forest area, where he was apprehended Sunday afternoon by Lt. Jeff Pitts and Officer Calvin Patrick of the Forest Police Department. Blue has been handed over to the Mississippi Department of Corrections. |
