| Inmate sentenced for kicking and spitting on jail employees |

A Livingston County Jail inmate with a history of fighting correctional officers is heading to prison. On Thursday, Natasha Roark, of Ann Arbor, was sentenced to three to five years in the Michigan Department of Corrections for two counts of assaulting jail employees. She was sentenced to a one to two-year concurrent sentence for three counts of resisting police. Roark, who was handcuffed behind her back and had on a face mask to prevent her from spitting on people, declined to make a statement about the sentencing in court Thursday. Two corrections officers testified during a bench trial earlier this month that Roark pulled away from Deputy Christopher Diehl as he touched her shoulder to direct her toward her cell on the morning on Sept. 28.
