| Ceremonies honor public safety personnel |

The efforts of public safety personnel are being recognized throughout the county, state and nation through a series of memorial weeks. Law Enforcement Memorial Week will be observed in Boone County next week, with a ceremony at 3 p.m. May 15, on the south side of the Boone County Courthouse, commemorating local, state and national officers who have been killed in the line of duty. This is National Correctional Officers and Employees Week, Sheriff Mike Nielsen told the Boone County Commissioners recently, asking the board to recognize work done by all public safety personnel.
