OWATONNA — To put it simply, being a correctional officer or employee has its challenges. But every day, thousands of men and women, like Paul Prissel and Anthony Buttera at the Steele County Detention Center, wear the uniform and the badge with pride as they work to keep the public safe and provide a variety of services to offenders across the U.S. “Somebody a long time ago told me, ‘no matter what, the goods will outweigh the bads,’ and it seems like that’s very true,” said Lt. Prissel, who is the assistant jail administrator. “There are some days where no one could ever compensate you enough for walking through the door, but there are other days that are quite rewarding, and so the goods do outweigh the bads.” Read More. |
