Luzerne County, Pa., Prison Board member Stephen Urban said Hugo Selenski was able to escape from his seventh-story prison cell by taking advantage of a flawed repair job to a window that had been damaged in a 1989 escape attempt. Selenski broke the window last Friday and climbed down a rope made of bed sheets. He surrendered Monday and is now behind bars at the state correctional institution in Dallas, Luzerne County. His new prison cell has no windows, and when he's outside of it, he'll be under escort and in handcuffs. A spokesman for the prison describes Selenski's new home as "a prison within a prison." |
