| Hutchinson inmate gets nearly five years more for attacking guard |

A Hutchinson prison inmate convicted last month of attacking a correctional officer in early 2015 received the maximum sentence on Friday for his crime. Reno County District Judge Tim Chambers sentenced Eddie Nunez, 29, to serve 4 years, 7 months more in prison, which was the aggravated sentence on the state’s sentencing grid. Nunez – who would have been eligible for release from prison in July without the new conviction – was serving time for 2005 second-degree intentional murder conviction out of Seward County when he attacked Officer Holly Seaver on his prison cellblock Jan. 13, 2015.
