| Corrections Officials Speak on Lino Lakes Inmate Escape |

Four days after authorities say James Mitchell allegedly stole a van filled with eight other inmates from the Lino Lakes correctional facility, the Department of Corrections is addressing the incident. On Tuesday the DOC said at a press conference the eight inmates in the van had nothing to do with Mitchell's escape. In fact, Deputy Commissioner Terry Carlson of the DOC's facility division said all eight cooperated when they were arrested again. Five inmates were arrested in Mounds View and three more in North Minneapolis. The van was also found close by. Mitchell was the last inmate to be arrested. He had the Minneapolis Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Hennepin County Sheriff's office, among other agencies, searching for him. By 4:30 pm Friday he was in custody. Read More. |
