An inmate in a San Francisco county jail in San Bruno died Sunday, sheriff’s officials said Wednesday. The prisoner, identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office as 25-year-old San Pablo resident Jesus Octavio Rodriguez, was found unresponsive in his cell in County Jail No. 5 around 7:15 a.m. Sunday by a deputy, according to San Francisco sheriff’s spokeswoman Eileen Hirst. Jail health services and San Bruno firefighters responded and attempted to revive Rodriguez using CPR and automated defibrillators, but were unsuccessful. The death is being investigated by the Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Department, but there are no obvious signs of foul play, Hirst said. Read More. |
