| Staffing shortage at Knox County Jail sends inmates to Wiscasset |

ROCKLAND – Twenty inmates were moved from Rockland to Wiscasset after a lack of staff at the Knox County Jail forced officials to close a part of the facility. One section was shut down over the weekend, and the inmates were sent to the Two Bridges Jail. Right now, Knox County has six vacancies for corrections officers and has not been able to fill the positions. When fully staffed, the jail has 28 corrections officers to look over 70 inmates.
