| Nebraska Prison Staff Thwart Inmate Escape Attempt |

BEATRICE – A Nebraska Corrections official says an escape attempt by an inmate being returned to the Tecumseh State Prison was thwarted by staff, yesterday afternoon. Comunications Director Dawn-Renee Smith says an inmate identified as Dillon Martin attempted to escape at about 4:15 p.m., while returning to Tecumseh Prison from a Lancaster County Court appearance. Smith says Martin broke open a small bag of an unidentified powder, dispersing it into the air. The driver of a van stopped the vehicle, and the driver and a second staff member exited the van. Martin became combative and aggressive. A third staff member inside the van deployed an electronic restraint device and a chemical agent. Read More. |
