A corrections officer at a Central Texas women's prison died after a confrontation with an inmate, Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials said. Shana Tedder, 41, complained of shortness of breath after a "use of force" altercation with a prisoner Friday at the Christina Melton Crain Unit in Gatesville, about 45 minutes west of Waco, officials said. Tedder reportedly collapsed while walking to another area to rest. Paramedics attempted to revive Tedder, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Read More. |
