| Indiana DOC To Close Indianapolis Correctional Facility |

The Indiana Department of Corrections is closing a minimum-security facility in Indianapolis to cut back on costs. The Indianapolis Re-Entry Educational Facility, or IREF, will close after just more than seven years of operation. The DOC says the closure will affect 183 inmates and 107 employees. DOC Chief of Communications Doug Garrison says changes in legislation have limited the number of inmates being sent to facilities like the IREF. Read More. |
