A prisoner serving a life sentence and awaiting transfer to a state prison was inadvertently released from the Montgomery County (Ala.) jail last month and remains at large. 20-year-old Bradley Demetrius Kenner was released from the facility on March 28th. He had served just five months of a life sentence. Kenner pleaded guilty in October to attempted murder, first-degree burglary and theft of property in a break-in at a house in Montgomery. Montgomery County Sheriff D-T Marshall said Kenner's release was the result of a clerical error. Kenner was being held at the county jail awaiting transfer to a state prison. Prison spokesman Brian Corbett said the department did not receive the official signed court papers on Kenner's sentence until yesterday. |
