Colorado Department of Corrections Seeks Public's Assistance in Locating Parole Escapee

The Colorado Department of Corrections is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Parole escapee. The subject is Robert Jake Chavez, DOB 3/21/1979. Chavez is classified as a Sexually Violent Predator under Colorado Revised Statutes. On Monday, June 26, Chavez cut off his ankle monitor and fled parole supervision. Chavez is described as a white/hispanic male; 5’-11” in height and weighing 260 pounds; he has short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen in the area of Pioneer Park in Commerce City. Chavez has a prior history of sexual assault on a child and has a history of possessing a weapon. If Chavez is spotted, the public is advised NOT to approach or attempt to contact Chavez, but should instead, dial 911 or directly contact the local law enforcement authorities in that community and immediately report the sighting and any additional information that they may observe.
