Pending unexpected final autopsy results, the investigation into Sunday’s death of a Greene County Detention Center inmate is over. Robert Allen Belt, 39, who listed an address on Whitehouse Road earlier this year, was found unresponsive at 4:41 p.m. Sunday in a one-person cell by a correctional officer. CPR was started on Belt and 911 was called. He was taken by Greene County-Greeneville EMS to Laughlin Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:38 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
