| 3 former Groveland inmates charged after contraband investigations |

Two former Groveland Correctional Facility inmates who were months away from release were charged last week in connection with investigations begun in April for having prison contraband, according to State Police. A former inmate out on parole was also charged last week with having contraband, police said. Charles Phelps, 24, of Pine City, was arrested July 3 during an appearance in Livingston County Court. He was charged with first-degree prison contraband, a class D felony. Phelps was ordered held on $2,000 bail. He was arrested following an investigation that began April 14 at Groveland Correctional Facility, police said. Read More. |
