A San Leandro man accused of stabbing a co-worker outside a San Carlos restaurant earlier this year appeared in San Mateo County Superior Court Monday after he was transported here from the Yuba County Jail, where he was held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

Bail of $100,000 was set for Bulmaro Maldonado Sanchez, 35, who is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury for his alleged April 29 stabbing of a co-worker, according to prosecutors.

Sanchez, a 35-year-old San Leandro resident, worked in the kitchen at Town Restaurant on Laurel Street in San Carlos when he got into a verbal argument with a co-worker. Sanchez then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the torso causing severe cuts to his lower stomach, shoulder and armpit, according to prosecutors.
