UNION COUNTY - Reconnections Program, a prisoner re-entry initiative aimed at helping former inmates adapt to life back in the community, will continue to receive funding from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

The freeholders allocated $50,000 for the program during the board's July 20 meeting. The county funds will close a gap caused by the elimination of state support and enable the program to continue until December 31, 2017. The program, administered by the Urban League of Union County, also receives funding from the United Way of Greater Union County.

Bergen. “Reconnections is a valuable program and the Freeholder Board is proud to continue supporting it.”
