PENNINGTON GAP, Va. — An inmate at United States Penitentiary Lee who had a homemade weapon was shot in the arm by a prison staff member Monday. Prison staff responded to an altercation involving four inmates just after 8 a.m., according to a news release. The inmate with the weapon was shot in the upper right arm.
