TRACY, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say they are investigating the death of an inmate at a state prison in central California as a homicide. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Wednesday that staff at Deuel Vocational Institution found a 34-year-old inmate lying unresponsive in a pool of blood inside the shower. It says staff transported Andres Cisneros to the treatment and triage area in the men's prison near Tracy. Cisneros was pronounced dead 30 minutes after he was found Tuesday night. Read More. |
