LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively Police say a man suspected of driving under the influence went so far as to offer police officers money -- and threaten to kill them -- in an attempt to avoid arrest. According to an arrest report, officers' encounter with 34-year-old Richard Badie began just after 3:30 a.m. on Thursday. Police say they Badie was driving a black Chevy Tahoe on eastbound I-264, just west of Dixie Highway, when he passed officers at a high rate of speed and almost hit a wall. When officers stopped him, they noticed he smelled strongly of alcohol and marijuana, and had "slow, slurred speech and red eyes," according to the arrest report.
