| DOC plan calls for 1,400 inmates to finish sentences outside prison |

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says more than 1,400 inmates would be considered eligible to serve out their sentences under community supervision, according to documents. That means the inmates could spend the rest of their sentences at home or in a halfway house. The inmates have 18 months left on their sentences, and their crimes include child abduction, accessory to murder, cruelty to animals, stalking and assault and battery -- including on police officers. “It’s absolutely insulting we have executives stand up here saying we support law enforcement all day long while they’re trying to let out people who seek to do harm,” said Rep.
