An officer at the Albion Correctional Facility in New York was arrested on more charges he had sexual contact with inmates he supervised, state police said last Thursday. Aaron Sklener, 33, of Akron, was charged last month with sexual abuse and official misconduct for an alleged incident with an 18-year-old inmate at the state prison for women. Trooper Arthur Pittman said further investigation revealed two other alleged victims. Sklener now faces two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, six counts of official misconduct and one count of forcible touching. A court date was set for May 19. His father, James Sklener of Corfu, was charged in the first incident with intimidating a victim and official misconduct for threatening the woman if she cooperated with investigators. He has been a corrections officer at the Orleans County facility for nearly 20 years, while his son has worked there for six years. The two have been suspended without pay. |
