| Madison County corrections officers thwart inmate's attempt to escape from jail |

WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Officers from the Madison County Correctional Facility are credited with the quick discovery of what was an escape attempt early Sunday afternoon. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Michael Hernandez tried to go through the ceiling of his cell in an attempt to escape the facility. He was found by corrections officers before he was able to make it out of his cell-- his legs were dangling from the ceiling overhead. Read More. |
