CONCORD — Gov. Chris Sununu will nominate the second-in-command to become the next commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. Helen Hanks of Lochmere has since 2014 been assistant commissioner of the department that manages the incarceration of 2,700 inmates and more than 16,000 others on probation and parole. If the Executive Council confirms her, she will replace William Wrenn of Dover who had announced that he would be stepping down in early November after 12 years in the top position. Hanks has been with the agency since 2003. Read More. |
