Orlando police officers found a community-release inmate who escaped from a Department of Corrections facility in Orlando Friday afternoon, police said. Eric Spells, 31, escaped from the Bridges of Orlando community release center on Mercy Drive at about 5:15 p.m. Friday, according to the Florida Department of Corrections. Police announced that officers had found him just after 11 p.m. The center allows inmates to hold jobs during the day and attend substance-abuse, educational and vocational courses at night.
