More than 15 years later, one of the men convicted in the 2002 U.S. Bank shootings in Norfolk is moving closer to being executed. On Thursday afternoon, the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office said it is prepared to request that the Nebraska Supreme Court issue a warrant for the execution of Jose Sandoval. State regulations require Nebraska’s corrections department director notify condemned inmates 60 days before the attorney general requesting an execution warrant.
