Inmates removed at recycling center |

The Kentucky Department of Corrections has advised the LaRue County Detention Center to suspend the state inmate work release program until further notice at the Renaissance Recycling Center in Hodgenville. According to Katherine Williams, Public Information Officer with the Kentucky Department of Corrections, a state Department of Corrections jail inspector arrived at the LaRue County Detention Center on Monday, November 13 and was advised by a local law enforcement officer, who happened to be at the jail when she arrived, that the local law enforcement agency was currently investigating an incident at the recycling center regarding contraband. As a result, Williams said the state Department of Corrections jail inspector directed LaRue County Jailer Cottrill to suspend the state inmate work program at the recycling center until further notice. She said the decision was made due to multiple complaints and incidents with contraband and the lack of supervision at the site during the last few days, weeks and months. Read More. |
