An inmate at the Lieber Correctional Institution died early Monday after authorities say he was assaulted. Ronald Franks, 62, died of his injuries in the early morning hours at Trident Medical Center, Dorechester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said. Authorities have not described the circumstances surrounding the assault. Lieber Correctional Institution is a maximum-security state prison in Ridgeville. Read More. |
