| Inmate denies assaulting female officer |

Prison hostage-taker Ricky Wassenaar has taken the stand in his own defense. He says he didn't sexually assault the female correctional officer held in the tower for two weeks at an Arizona prison. Officer Lois Fraley testified that Wassenaar sexually assaulted her shortly after Wassenaar and fellow inmate Steven Coy took her and a male officer hostage. Last week, Wassenaar denied assaulting her. He is on trial for charges including kidnapping, assault and sexual assault. He is acting as his own attorney. |
