A former corrections officer at the Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna is sentenced for smuggling drugs and cell phones into the facility. Paul Hursey, 49, will get 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right. Hursey smuggled heroin and other drugs as well as 30 cell phones to 11 inmates in return for money while working at Vaughn from 2013 through 2015. Read More. |
